John Lewis died last night. He was the best of us. Someone who stood for civil rights, equal rights, for human rights in a way few of us ever do. Justice Ginsburg released a statement yesterday that she is being treated (again) for cancer. She is presenting a brave public face, but I cannot imagine that she is not thinking about whether she can make it to January 2021. Trump would move to replace her if she does not make it and McConnell would not think twice about getting that nominee confirmed before Joe Biden puts his hand on the Bible. Things seem particularly bleak today.
