In every proposal, yours included, the Jordan River Valley is Israeli controlled. This is more like a Napoleon, or Baklava, than a sandwich. Your description of leaving some Israeli settlements, with Israeli only roads means the West Bank will be a plaidwork with Jew only roads, settlements and guard on their border with Jordan. You can't hem in a people from international borders and call them a state.scottindallasnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5016253077154756564.post-87986813882783718872011-11-11T03:07:27.539-05:002011-11-11T03:07:27.539-05:00There is a certain undeniable logic to this propos...There is a certain undeniable logic to this proposal, but why not also make all of Jordan the Palestinian state, as it comprises nearly 80% of the original British Mandate. With the Palestinians controlling nearly 80% of the former Mandate and Israel controlling 20%, there should be no viable argument against a "two-state" solution! If the "Palestinian Arabs reject this, they should be deemed to have forfeited their statehood rights and forced to live with the "Greater Israel" outcome. Having an endless appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other should have severe consequences!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5016253077154756564.post-58086323444394828492011-10-14T13:00:20.552-04:002011-10-14T13:00:20.552-04:00I don't know. I can't disagree with your idea that the ideal solution would look more like 1 big hole in Israel than 2, but: How does that even matter when the reality of the situation is that palestine and israel aren't about to become best buddies and sit around and amicably divvy up the land. It's ridiculous to propose a "solution" that doesn't even touch on sentiment, let alone religious fervor, and most importantly an epic lack of trust.

Maybe we can just King Solomon them and suggest cutting the land in half and see who really loves it more?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
